an F.E. Thomas design. What do you guys think ?  The flies that will be used are small, for example a wooly bugger would be tied as a #14 etc.

ST-4 taper and have made several permutations from it. I think that the ST-4 was one of the ones that he had with him at &#39;08 SRG. I&#39;m hoping that one

&amp; Elser in fundamentals recommends 4 inches and Cattanach goes with a 2 to 5 range.

I did the ferrule wrap on my latest self-ferruled rod this week. The wrap is 2 1/8 inches long. I used a fresh spool of YLI-100 #212 and treated it with a
Waterlox-WAM sauce. It got mostly translucent. The middle of the flats had a whitish look. I could see no bubbles under magnification. It looked like there was
no contact with the cane underneath. I stripped the wrap off and there was plenty of... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ Was looking for a little help finishing a bamboo blank, first attempt at bamboo.  Just received a spar var blank, looking for transparent wraps.  I was going
to use Flex Coat Lite mix with some Acetone 1:1 ratio to finish the wraps, 6-8 thin coats on silk wraps.  I am planning on not dipping the rod in a tube if its
possible.  Any thoughts or tips would be great.

			<title><![CDATA[ Titanium Step Down Ferrule ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ Had some medical grade titanium, ELI, and thought I&#39;d make a set of ferrules. When I finished the female, I deceided to try and color the metal using
Birch-Wood Casey Brass Black. As you can see, it only worked near the welt. The rest of the shaft discoloration is a result of useing heat. Color was uneven
and far to blue. Should have just had it coated but I got it into my head that I could color it. Result, was I ruined it. Haha, some people learn harder than
others.

			<description><![CDATA[ I&#39;ve been wanting to do a bamboo ferrule for a while. Well I just finished the first try and it fishes and catches just fine. Looks leave something to be
desired though. I double wrapped the ferrule with YLI natural, treating each layer with thinned Flexcoat. The result was a decent translucent wrap. then I just
had to be fancy and add a decoration. It&#39;s a half inch of #241, followed by a half inch of white, then finished with a half inch of #241 again. I put the

			<description><![CDATA[ I just inherited my wife&#39;s grandfather&#39;s bamboo fly rod, and am starting to restore it.  (Its my first bamboo rod.)   By family history, he bought it
shortly after WWII.  The label has worn off to the point that I can&#39;t tell which make it is.  It was given to me with an H-1 Utica, N.Y. Steel Reel (spring
action), but I think that may have come later.  Its 9 foot, three peice, with a spare tip.
