Several years ago I bought a steel splicing block for making nodeless rods and a friend is in need of one now. I've lost access to the information on
where I got it from and would like to know who makes or sells them.
Thank you,
Wayne

I got a nice metal splicing block from Dave Hellman. hellmandave@yahoo.com
I think it cost me $75 +shipping a few years ago. However I rarely use the block to cut splices anymore since I set up a disk sander with a jig to sand the splices now. The disk sander method is 95% faster, staighter with a feathered edge and you don't have to sharpen blades or need a vice. Mike |

Wayne- check with Eric at Golden Witch. That's where I bought mine, oh, four years ago or so. It's not listed on their current e-catalog, but he may
have one, or perhaps can put you on the trail

Thank you all for your replies. A member from another board sold me a used one. However, I may have another friend looking for one. Dave is out of stock for at
least 3 weeks. I will try Chris and GW.
Thanks again, Wayne |

I have never done much splicing but I can see a real need for it...
Have you tried a compound angle, i.e. 5* on the Horizontal and 5* on the Vertical...? My understanding it will give you a wider glue base....?

Thanks Dave and Joe,
I haven't tried any compound angle stuff, simply because I've never had any reason to improve. Ya know 'if it ain't broke don't fix it...' However it would be really easy to do if one wanted to try. Just tilt the table down, if its adjustable like mine. Mike |
