Thus begins another adventure! I will be leaving Colorado April 1st, and meeting Bob (aka Uintaangler), a friend and bamboo nut from Utah, on the N. Platte. We will fish our way north along the Platte, to Buffalo, Wyo., and fish the Bighorn foothills. Then Bob heads home, and Mike P. and I will meet Morrison in Deer Lodge. We will spend the next few days exploring the rivers and figure out fishing conditions. Then, I begin my first day on April 14th, and will work through October. We will see what happens after that, eh. Probably a lot of elk, deer, grouse and pheasant hunting...
Hope to see you this summer!

. I haven't worn one for about 8 years or so, when I worked on a bison ranch in NE Wyo. I like floppier hats a bit better. I can't wait to see
how the massage parlours work--might be a happy ending to a wonderful day trout fishing
. Apparently there's a bit of a rivalry between the golf staff (the main
attraction of the ranch) and the anglers. A friendly rivalry, but one none the less. Guess I'll have to show 'em where they can shove a 9 iron
Tsk, tsk.
As hard as that is to believe, it leaves me to fish with client rods instead of my own, as mine are tucked neatly under my seat at the sticks of the
boat
. So, I grabbed Morrison's rod while she and Thomas went to
grab the shuttle vehicle, and fished for a bit. I'm working on Morrison's first bamboo rod currently, so hopefully my photos with graphite in the frame
will be very limited to extinct, eh
. But, being a dry fly purist, I
know you know how hard life can be sometimes
. He designs the mandrels and rolls the graphite and fiberglass cloth around his
custom tapered mandrels. He makes some wonderful fishing tools.
...
. But I
cast 'er a while back with feedback from Sam D. and Thomas S. at Sweetgrass. My first version was O.K., and cut my second blank a bit longer and it turned
out to be a wonderful 8'8", 6 wt. rod! I'm pretty stoked to get it on the local rivers, especially after trying to fish the N. Fork of the
Flathead--need a bigger rod for sure. I'm hoping this one will be able to handle the Bull Trout that seem to end up on the end of the line every once in a
while...
