I mainly fish Hardy's myself but can tell you the Peerless Reels are very popular...
Nice vintage look in a well made reel, only down side is the price point...
Some people think a reel just holds line, others think a reel is much more...
Guess I fall in-between some were..."-)

I own a Model 1.5 and Model 7M raised pillar. I like the looks of the raised pillar, but prefer the 1.5 due to the adjustable drag. Both are quality reels with
great looks. The price point is on the higher side for new reels ($650). However, you can find some deals on used models in excellent condition. Best wishes!

You won't be disappointed with the quality. Consider a used one if new is out of reach at the moment.
