All;
Back about 1998 or so I bought a pair of Burris binoculars, seems to me that with my discount they were about $250.00 retailed around $500.00 Well long story short over the years they just seemed to lose their 'luster'. They got hard to adjust and just seemed to not be right. Well when I lived in Greeley, CO I used to pass by their factory every day! So yesterday I thought I would take these binoculars up there and see if it was just my imagination or if there was something wrong with them and what it was going to take to make them right, short of tossing them. Well I was met at the door by the receptionist and she said with a smile "let me get someone to help you." Jan came to the front shortly and I started to tell her "well it seems to me .......well here take a look see. Jan took one look and exclaimed "WOW these will give you a headache! They certainly need some help. " So I started to tell here that I couldn't remember if I sent the warranty card in or .......She stopped me there with "It doesn't matter, these are covered by our 'Forever Warrenty' She then took out a blank piece of paper and said "Will you write down your address and a phone number please, and do you want us to UPS them to your house?" she then said our repair facility is in ......Oh Oh, I thought, here we go! .....but she said California! I was sure it was going to be somewhere overseas! (how did I get this way?)
Anyway I know this has nothing to do with Rod building, but if you are ever in need of some fine optics and want some good old fashion customer services ..........nuff said.
Jan did say one last thing, "you know we have been here for 30 years, and some people around here don't even know who we are!" I found that to be somewhat sad.
Sorry for the rant, but there are some (very few) good USA companies left!
